Two options, A or B. Each option consists of three stations.

Option A:

Content ~ Each class is divided into three groups, with each group participating in the following activities:

  1. A self-guided tour of the “Metamorphosis of Vernon” that reinforces the material covered in “The Beginnings of Early Vernon” classroom presentation. As well, students will have the opportunity to explore more pioneer artifacts that are on display.
  2. The “Pioneer Box” guessing game where students are introduced to artifacts used during pioneer times. This is a great hands-on learning experience.
  3. A visit to “The Wayside Press” shop where museum volunteer, Bodo Niedbala, will demonstrate how to set up lines of print, print a proof copy and finished copies, and melt down the lines of type for reuse. Each student will receive a personalized sheet, hot off the press, at the end of the demonstration.

Grade level ~ Grade 3 and up
