Remembrance Day resources
The Vernon Cadet Museum has a Discovery Box available for in-class learning at local schools. Included are documents and objects of military significance, uniforms, and medals.
The Discovery Box also includes Educational Support Material for teachers on the Canadian Military, with a focus on local North Okanagan involvement.

Local Indigenous Veterans
Included in the Discovery Box is some information on local Syilx Indigenous Veterans from the Okanagan Nation.
Teachers in School District 22 can also contact Indigenous Education Lead Teacher, Carly Hills at CHills@sd22.bc.ca for more information.
ARCHIVAL RESEARCH FOR STUDENTS
Due to public health precautions, and the impact on staff capacity, the Vernon Museum & Archives is not hosting school groups on-site.
If you’ve students who would like to research local veterans, we are happy to help them on email or by video conferencing!
