Join the Museum & Archives of Vernon for “Women in Leadership: Challenging the Status Quo,” a community conversation featuring women leaders shaping public life across the Greater Vernon region.

This speaker panel brings together voices from government, education, and community advocacy to discuss what leadership looks like in practice — the barriers that persist, the systems that need rethinking, and the ways women continue to challenge and redefine leadership in their fields.

Through shared experiences and open dialogue, panelists will explore topics such as representation and equity, mentorship and solidarity, navigating male-dominated spaces, economic justice, access to healthcare, and empowering future generations of leaders.

The program includes 1.5 hours of moderated discussion followed by a 30-minute audience Q&A, inviting participants to engage directly with panelists. Refreshment and light snacks will be provided.

Panelists

• Harwinder Sandhu – MLA for Vernon–Lumby
• Vanessa Mitchell – School District 22 Trustee
• Kari Gares – Vernon City Councillor
• Jenelle Brewer – OKIB Council Member and Author
• Teresa Durning – Vernon City Councillor
