Join us for a Speaker Series co-hosted by the Museum & Archives of Vernon and the Okanagan Historical Society.
Dr. David Riach, an independent, non-profit aviation researcher and writer living in Winnipeg, will be our guest speaker.
During his presentation, Dr. Riach will delve into the life of Bill McCluskey, one of British Columbia’s best-known and respected commercial pilots, born and raised in Vernon. Beginning in 1919, Bill led efforts to establish civil aviation in Vernon and the Okanagan. In fact, he would contribute much to the development of air transport across the province.
This event in the speaker series will be taking place via Zoom, but the option to attend a live screening at the Vernon Museum is also available. A reminder email will be sent out a few days before the event that will confirm the Zoom link. No proof of payment or ticket will be required for those attending in person.
Please note that all net proceeds from this event will be directed towards supporting the Vernon Museum and the Okanagan Historical Society.
